Who Pays for It?
The average inclusive cost of putting together a Village Plan is around £3,500. We anticipate incurring higher than average costs in Melbourn as we are at the top end of the spectrum in terms of size.
Here in Melbourn, funding opportunities by way of grants are always being explored e.g. at the time of writing we are actively seeking funding from the Community Projects Grants pot of South Cambridgeshire District Council.
Additionally, sponsorship will be sought from local businesses to help towards print and distribution costs of the final Plan.
The remainder of the cost will be borne by the Parish Council, who is empowered to finance residential surveys under s141 of the Local Government Act 1972.
